Arizona updates Solar Strategic Plan
State's goal to "own" the solar industry
The Arizona Energy Consortium (AEC) has updated the state's Solar Strategic Plan, which tracks the implementation of a series of recommended actions for the long-term growth of the state's solar industry. The state's goal is to be the national leader in solar production, as well as solar exports. "If Arizona is to own this industry, it must capitalize on its competitive advantage -- the sun. This will only occur if there is collaboration across the finance and economic development, industry and infrastructure, and policy and regulatory sectors," said Michelle De Blasi, co-chair of AEC. A renewable friendly tax structure and highly skilled workforce is driving Arizona's solar industry. It doesn't hurt that the state has an overabundance of sunshine. For more:
