Concerns Grow About Seriousness of Intelligence Leaks
The seriousness of the recent leaks about sensitive U.S. intelligence
operations appears to be sinking in among members of Congress and has
led to calls, so far mostly by Senate Republicans, for an independent
investigation. While President Obama appears to have cover for now from
Senate Intelligence Committee Chairwoman Diane Feinstein to resist
appointing a special counsel to investigate, this may soon change as her
committee proceeds with its own investigation and faces a likely refusal
by the administration to cooperate on executive privilege grounds.
