Bert, who are in Chile this week sourcing radiation-free foods and supplements to support support the goal expressed by our Beyond Organics, BioDynamics mentor, Fr. Saving Our Supplements

One of our primary concerns regards the sourcing of Dietary Supplements. Right now most dietary ingredients on the US market are manufactured in China or in North America, both areas under immediate threat from Fukushima. "Organic" standards in both areas are not very high. And now, EU organic standards have apparently been downgraded to meet the laughably low US/China standards: http://www.foodsafetynews.com/2012/02/us-eu-organic-standards-declared-equivalent/.

To make matters worse, Congress is at it again, threatening your access to high potency nutrients. I wrote about that in my Vitamin Lawyer Health Freedom Blog a couple days ago.

I wrote: "Under increasing lobbying pressure from the drug industry and the Federal bureaucracy, Congress is considering bills to increase FDA and USDA power over foods yet again. In a series of laws over the past five years, starting with what I call the "FDA Enabling Act" in 2007 (Teddy Kennedy's dying gift to the bureaucracy) the power of the central government over local food production and distribution has dramatically increased. By 2010 the Federal agencies were empowered to enter into "contracts" with state food inspectors, effectively nationalizing local food inspection..."

The Bill to watch is S.3187 (which has passed the Senate and is on its way to the House of Representatives). This is the bill that will have various anti-supplement provisions attached to it, unless we Push Back hard, in which case, some of the good provisions that pro-health freedom Members of Congress have proposed may be added instead (these include HR 3380, 2044 and 2045). It will depend on our efforts!
