But What If Big Government Is The Big Problem?

In a New York Times editorial on Monday, the caption read "A Big Storm Requires Big Government." The author of the piece argued that "disaster coordination is one of the most vital functions of 'big government'" so we should not be so eager to downsize the federal monstrosity that exists in Washington DC today. I think this mindset is the effect of living in a large city where you're surrounded by steel and glass, concrete, and asphalt (and not much else), and others provide you everything you need for your existence. It's a sad thing, really, to think that in times of trouble you cannot depend on yourself, your neighbors, or your houses of worship, and instead must rely on some pencil-pushing bureaucrat sitting at a desk to micromanage your life... even to the point of helping you survive. It's like being a perpetual infant and never getting off the bottle.

What a sad life, to be so helpless.

As of this writing, Hurricane Sandy is cutting a swath across the eastern seaboard and New York City is in darkness and on fire, Atlantic City is under water, and the levees have been breached in Moonache, New Jersey, just to name a few conditions affecting our neighbors to the east. I'm not sure that the same federal government that sat in a situation briefing room watching the events in Benghazi, Libya unfold and couldn't even manage to give one simple order to save the lives of the Americans in that consulate, can somehow manage to suddenly find the intelligence to successfully coordinate a disaster relief effort in the scope and magnitude that will be necessary to cover all the areas affected by Sandy's barrage.

As someone who lived through Katrina, I'll tell you what the federal government did for me -- nada. Not one thing. Zip. Zilch. In fact, the government was more a hindrance to disaster relief than it helped. Government officials prevented those who had the ability and means from rescuing those trapped by the flood waters in New Orleans. Ineffective big government is why the lower Ninth Ward in New Orleans remains largely unrestored and unpopulated to this date, seven years after Katrina.

Ineffective big government is why Chicago is a bastion of hopelessness and despair for their inner-city residents. Big government is the architect of the decay, wretchedness, and abandonment of Detroit, Michigan.

Big government breeds a people who are defenseless and unable to fend for themselves, slaves to a state that cares nothing about them. That is what big government does.

Big government struts through disaster areas with a herd mentality... and we're the herd. They bust through our doors, confiscate our means of defense, and leave us helpless in the face of those who take pleasure in inflicting even more pain and suffering on the victims of these disasters. Even before Sandy hit, gangs were coordinating robbing and looting plans over their telephone networks.

Big government encourages complacency, withdrawal from involvement with our neighbors, and pummels into dust the creative, innovative spirit that we're all born with. Just look at our churches today. As government expanded into the charity business, churches withdrew. Now, instead of spending the money they collect to help the disadvantaged learn to take care of themselves and to share the love of God, they spend it on bigger facilities, staff salaries, and the material pleasures of this world. The churches and private charities were much better at providing for the needs of the poor than government will ever be. The waste and inefficiency is astronomical, and no one in Washington DC can know the landscape or the needs of a community outside its sphere.

The legacy of big government is a hemorrhaging of resources and a perpetual apathy. It dulls the beauty of what is around us and dulls the human spirit within each of us. And as big government grows (because it never stagnates, it must always get bigger), we lose more and more of our freedoms. In the end, we are strangled in the iron fist of their "charitable" impulses.

I confess... I am afraid. I am afraid that the majority of the people in our country have succumbed to the belief that we cannot survive without someone telling us what to do, that we cannot possibly live without someone or some institution micromanaging us into oblivion. And if we really are at that tipping point, then the majority will not be able to do anything other than cede ruling authority entirely over to a bloated federal government

We have already started doing this incrementally. We have allowed the establishment of the TSA, which is now expanding its reach outside of airports. We have allowed the 2012 NDAA, which codifies the suspension of habeas corpus for the first time in American history and legalizes the execution of American citizens without a trial or verdict of guilt being rendered. Through Agenda 21, we have ceded national sovereignty to an international body which neither recognizes nor holds sacred our Constitution.

Our very own Homeland Security now targets Christians, patriots, pro-lifers, and returning military as extremist threats who must be monitored. If our government is getting worried about segments of the population that historically have never been anything but decent, hard-working, contributing members of society, then something is terribly wrong with that government.

And since they have been systematically dismantling the Constitution without revolt from the people, their paranoia will lead them to one inevitable end -- tyranny and a total deconstruction of the Constitution.

And they will use the threat of an "emergency" situation to do it. Congressman James M. Beck said it best, in 1933:

"I think of all the damnable heresies that have ever been suggested in connection with the Constitution, the doctrine of emergency is the worst. It means that when Congress declares an emergency, there is no Constitution."

How does one survive in a police state, because a police state is what we're conditioning ourselves to live in. A bureaucratic oligarchy is what is being established, not the representative Republic we were given. And until such time as the American people declare "enough," we will have to live within the confines of that tyranny.

Understanding and Surviving Martial Law shows you how to do just that. It has been updated and expanded to meet the present needs of citizens wishing to protect themselves, their families, and their possessions from a government that is growing by leaps and bounds.

For instance, you'll learn:

  • The secret that is more important than guns, food, or money.
  • Why you must act now... before it is too late.
  • What the most dangerous time in America will be... and why it will be too late for those who haven't prepared.
  • What group of conservative Americans will be the first to "disappear" under martial law.
  • The "Five Martial Law Rules to Live By" that every survivor must memorize.

In this book, you'll discover:

  • What the most dangerous agency in the U.S. is (you'll never guess!)...
  • The nine most dangerous numbers in your life...
  • What the dreaded "knock on the door" means ...
  • What the World War II phrase "loose lips sink ships" means to you and your family today...
  • The 15 essential supplies you MUST have to survive the coming police state... including one very unusual one that nine out of ten survivalists would never guess...

Understanding and Surviving Martial Law will prepare you to cope with a government that is taking away more of our fundamental rights, more quickly, each and every day. Between the storm damage from Hurricane Sandy and the upcoming elections (where riots breaking out is a viable threat), a declaration of martial law is entirely possible. People will not only be freaking out, we'll also see large pockets of anger and rebellion across the nation. It will be the grimmest time in American history.

Understanding and Surviving Martial Law will prepare you in ways you never thought about. And, for a limited time, as a special bonus when you order your copy of Understanding and Surviving Martial Law, you'll also get an audio version that you can listen to as you drive to work, while you're cleaning the house, or when you're winding down for the evening.

In addition, you'll receive a FREE copy of the DVD documentary Camp FEMA--American Lockdown: Evidence of Internment Camps in America. Most of the police state "systems" that were being set up at the time this video was made (2005) are now "cocked and loaded" waiting only for the president to pull the trigger. What would be the circumstances where he could pull that trigger? With the combination of executive orders signed over the past 30 to 40 years, anything Obama decides can be considered an "emergency" or "threat."

Elections have consequences, and the election next week puts several choices before the American people. None of the candidates are optimal. In reality, the contest is only between two of them. We can vote for a candidate who believes we don't have the brains or fortitude to control our own destinies, or we can vote for a candidate who still believes somewhat in the American dream and the spirit of her people. We can continue to remove politicians who believe they are the arbiters of our destiny and elect true citizen patriots, or we can continue in this slide to despotism and remain glued to our televisions while the state-run media controls what we see and hear. We can get up and fight for the soul of our people, educating those who have forgotten who we were as a nation, or we can, like sheep, simply submit to Big Brother and whatever he decides.

The choice is entirely up to us.

This election is close and can go either way. People who feel vulnerable and without hope (like those in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy) may very well choose someone who promises to take care of them, regardless of whether that choice is the most prudent. While I pray that we choose wisely, I'll also be ready in case we don't. I would suggest that you do the same.
