"So, What Now?"

We all watched on November 6th as our divided nation chose to reelect President Obama for a second term.  As soon as the race was called, I was grieved and concerned for our nation.  Our nation was founded on powerful principles like self-reliance, personal responsibility, capitalism, and the God-given right for a citizen to protect the most precious thing in the world: their life and the lives of their loved ones.

The fact that President Obama has such a fundamentally different view on many of these issues than our Founding Fathers did is disturbing to say the least�

Even though this election caused me to become frustrated with the state of our culture and values as a nation, it also reminded me, yet again, that there is nothing new under the sun.  Even though I see our nation at a defining crossroads of values, tradition, and identity, I also see the opportunity for great men and women to rise to the challenge of defending liberty.

Remember, History is a teacher.  What History has shown us is that during times of political and moral decay,greatness can rise.  The United States of America was built on this very foundation.  Our Founders heeded the call of their collective conscience and raised their voices against the suppression of unalienable rights.  In the spirit of our roots, I want encourage you to do the same�

So, what can you and I do about the things that we passionately disagree with?  

I know it sounds cliché, but you can be the change you want to see.  For me, that means working harder and more passionately than ever before to spread the mission of the USCCA.  I believe that if we do our part to raise the flag for responsible personal protection and firearms rights, that we will not only be heard, we will save many lives…

And that is what this is all about.  We all agree that life is too precious to go unguarded.  By standing firmly for what we believe in and shouting it from the rooftop, we are participating in the most powerful privilege our nation affords us.  People like you and I can, and will, make a difference in our nation when we boldly choose to live everyday by the values and principles that made our Founders fight for freedom to begin with.

The purpose of this week’s report is the same as every report we will ever publish: To better equip and serve you as you protect and serve yourself and others.  My sincerest hope is that you become more knowledgeable and enriched as you read these reports, and that you are inspired to share your passion and knowledge with others as a result.
