Syria-Turkey Tensions Threaten to Draw in NATO
NATO members do not want to be drawn into the Syrian conflict, but might
be forced to because of growing tensions between Turkey and Syria which
increased yesterday when Turkey intercepted a Syrian airliner. While it
is unclear whether this is Turkey’s goal, Ankara seems to be picking a
fight with the Assad regime that could result in a regional conflict.
