France is reducing its reliance on thermal installed capacity (at a compound annual growth rate of 1.9 percent through 2020) while Germany, Italy and the U.K. are predicted to increase thermal capacity during the same period. France's commitment to renewable energy and energy efficiency should help the country alleviate its reliance on fossil fuels by the end of the decade, GlobalData contends.
