The Artemis Project Top 50 Unveils 2012's Most Promising Water Tech Start-UpsSeptember 13, 2012 The Benchmark for Technologies that Will Matter The Artemis Project, a non-profit dedicated to helping water technology companies emerge into the world market, is pleased to announce the 2012 Artemis Project Top 50 Water Tech Listing. The Top 50 identifies the most promising companies that are applying innovation in the market to address today’s dire water challenges. The Artemis Project is awarding the companies at the Cleantech Water Innovation Summit in Berkeley, California today. The jury voted 212 Resources, ENBALA Power Networks, NanoH2O, New Sky Energy and Saltworks Technologies as the “Top 5”. Atlantis Technologies, MINT, New Sky Energy, Saltworks Technologies and TaKaDu were named the “Most Promising” technologies of 2012. The judges chose 212 Resources, Aqua-Pure Ventures, HTI, Marrone Bio Innovations and NanoH2O as “Early Leaders” among the 19 companies generating revenues beyond US$5M. “The Artemis Top 50 serves as a lightening rod for start-ups that will change water management,” stated Laura Shenkar, Top 50 Chair. Since 2009, the Top 50 has identified the start-ups that have since emerged as leading start-ups in this rapidly developing tech industry. The Top 50 jury evaluated 125 companies in depth based on their technologies as well as business potential. “This year’s jury brought the Top 50 review to a new level with an intense and vibrant debate,” noted Shenkar. The jury included experts from corporations such as Intel, Archer Daniels Midland, IBM, Ecolab and Syngenta as well as McKinsey, CH2M Hill, Carollo Engineers and Singapore’s Public Utilities Board.
