Hoekstra Discusses Homegrown Terrorism Threat, Al-Qaeda Links
In an exclusive LIGNET interview, Peter Hoekstra, former chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, explains that the Boston Marathon bombers probably represent homegrown terrorism, a threat he says has been growing in the West since the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Germany: Rise of Anti-Euro Party Threatens Future of EU
Only weeks after its founding, a new German political party that favors abandoning the euro is quickly gaining traction and building legitimacy. It may not be able to attract enough support to hurt Chancellor Angela Merkel’s chances of winning a third term this fall. But it could make it more difficult for her to lead a spirited defense of the common currency, and the European Union.

Japan’s Economic Bazooka Will Not Go Unchallenged

Do you trust The New York Times to give you the facts?

Or just the “politically correct” facts?

Manipulation of the news to advance an unspoken agenda is not limited to The New York Times. The Associated Press has now banned the use of the term “illegal alien” out of fear they might hurt someone’s feelings. As a consequence, you’re not getting all the facts you need and you can’t trust the analysis because it is distorted with bias.

And make no mistake — we live in perilous times. Just turn on the television and see the danger with your own eyes: a bombing in Boston, ricin found in letters addressed to President Obama and a U.S. senator, North Korea saber rattling with nukes, economic unrest in Europe, and Iran full steam ahead on its way to multiple atomic bombs.

You keep up with the headlines because you subscribe to the free LIGNET daily briefing. But as good and useful as that briefing is, it only scratches the surface.
