It almost goes without saying that our children blindly follow
our example as parents. Even more weighty than that is the
reality that they also trust us...almost without question.
This un-ignorable fact of parenthood has forced me to ask myself
a hard question: Am I worthy of the trust of my family?
Most people want to believe they are trustworthy guardians, but
many parents actually neglect to take the most basic actions
when it comes to protecting their families. In case you haven't
read between the lines yet, YES...I'm talking about taking the
appropriate measures to protect your family with a gun.
Owning firearms and being educated, trained and equipped to use
them efficiently against a threat is one of the most fundamental
things we can do as guardians. In fact, I would put it on equal
footing with feeding, clothing, educating and housing our
families. After all, what good is feeding, clothing, educating
and housing our families if we are unwilling to guard their
physical well-being in the process?
If you're anything like me, you have probably already thought
about this before and I'm probably preaching to the choir. But
if you haven't given this concept serious thought, it's never
too late to get on the right track.
If you don't know where to start your journey to responsible gun
ownership and self-reliance, look no further. You're already
