Hello ArizonaEnergy,

I don’t see any major Geomagnetic storms occurring.

The maximum “Kp” index is 5 over the next 3 days. That corresponds to a “G1” NOAA scale which is a minor storm. We have been having them all the time, with no major impact other then light shows.

There are some folks out there that make money trying to scare the crap out of people. I see these “solar storm” warnings all the time. They’re usually from people making money selling survival stuff.

If you go on the SWPC site, you can subscribe to tons of products that analyze what’s really going on with the  Sun, like this 72 hour forecast. It’s all free, and right from the source. Also the scales are at http://www.swpc.noaa.gov/NOAAscales/
