If you're on horseback and desperate for a Quarter Pounder, you are out of luck. A woman in the United Kingdom found this out the hard way over the weekend, when she tried to ride a pony through the drive-through at a Manchester McDonald's. The restaurant said it couldn't serve her that way, so she took the next logical step: She brought the pony into the restaurant, where it promptly pooped on the floor, the BBC reports. Police soon arrived and fined the woman for "causing alarm and distress to other customers and staff," a police spokesman said. Apparently the no-horses rule is a matter of company policy; in a statement, McDonald's said that "the health and safety of our customers and staff is our top priority, and for this reason we are unable to serve pedestrians, bicycle riders, or customers on horseback through the drive-thru." Mickey Dee's also recently offered up some pretty ironic career advice to employees. Newser is a USA TODAY content partner providing general news, commentary and coverage from around the Web.
