BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A homeowner fired his handgun into the ground three times to stop three men from stealing his appliances, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Office. Deputies were called to the home on Squire Lane, near Highway 99 and Ming Avenue, around 9 a.m. Friday. The homeowner told investigators that he used the gun because he feared for his life. He held the suspects presumably at gunpoint until deputies arrived. No one was injured in the incident. Jesse Perez, Edward Anaya and Miguel Reyes were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy and grand theft.
