The Farm Bill is on the Move

Do you like healthy, locally produced food?

The House of Representatives is moving toward passage of its version of the Farm Bill—the major piece of legislation that directs food and farm policy for the next five years and beyond. But initial drafts have wildly missed the mark by continuing to subsidize unhealthy processed food ingredients instead of prioritizing healthy food like fruits and vegetables.

The good news? We still have time to change this.

The House is scheduled to begin final debate of their version of the Farm Bill this month. Before they do, make sure they hear you loud and clear.

Tell your representative to support a Farm Bill that shifts priorities towards healthy, local food for all, instead of spending more of our taxpayer dollars on unhealthy, processed foods.

Sincerely,
Jenn Yates
