Man on fends off home invasion

An armed robbery on Watts Road was stopped by a resident carrying his own firearm, and police are still searching for two suspects.

At approximately 11:03 p.m. on May 3, Madison police received a call to a home invasion in the 7000 block of Watts Road. Two suspects forced their way inside, confronting the victim with a handgun while demanding money, police report.

The victim then managed to arm himself with a firearm, which caused the suspects to flee, and no weapons were fired during this exchange, police stated.

The incident does not appear to be random, and the investigation is still ongoing, according to Madison police Sergeant Brian Chaney.
