28 Killed, 98 Wounded in Bombings across Iraq

At least 28 people were killed and 98 more were wounded across the country today. Baghdad was again struck with a series of bombings, but so were many other towns across the region.

In Baghdad, a suicide bomber struck in Sabi al-Bour, killing two people and wounding 10 more. A bomb killed one person and wounded 12 more in Shurta IV. A bomb killed one person and wounded five more in Ilam. In Suleikh, ten people were wounded in a blast.

Two people were killed and 15 more were wounded in a car bombing near the governate headquarters in Kirkuk.

Gunmen in Samarra killed a commander and wounded three bodyguards. A bomb targeting the mayor of Samarra killed a bodyguard. Four others were wounded, including a child.

Four people were killed when a helicopter was shot down during a security operation near Baiji. At least three militants were killed on the ground during clashes. Another helicopter was also hit but was able to make an emergency landing.

In Falluja, a suicide bomber killed a policeman and wounded six more during a complex attack at a checkpoint. A hand grenade wounded two policemen .

In Tuz Khormato, a man and his daughter were killed and five more people were wounded in a bomb blast.

A bomb in Mafraq wounded three people.

A sticky bomb killed a lawyer in Shirqat.

An officer and a chauffer were killed during a small arms attack in Khalis.

In Mosul, security forces killed a suicide bomber. A roadside bomb targeting a commander wounded three bodyguards instead.

Two people were killed and six more were wounded during an explosion at a cafe in Nahrawan.

A roadside bomb exploded near a tribal council in Muqdadiya, wounding two men.

In Baquba gunmen killed a Sunni district official and wounded a relative.

A bomb in Tal Afar killed a policeman and wounded 11 others.
