Seven Suicide Bombers Attack Security Post; 24 Killed, 54 Wounded Across Iraq

At least 24 people were killed in shootings and bombings across the country. Another 54 were killed. The worst attack took place in Mosul.

In Mosul, two suicide bombers and two car bombs wounded 23 security personnel at the Ninewa Operations Command headquarters; it is unclear how many of them may have died. Later, five suicide bombers were killed during a second attack. Separately, a suicide bomber killed three soldiers and wounded seven more. Gunmen killed a television cameraman; it is unclear if they knew he was a journalist.

In Baghdad, four people were killed and seven more were wounded late Thursday during a drive-by shooting targeting a restaurant in Ameriya. One person was killed and four more were wounded in a blast in Husseiniya.

A bomb near a Madaen cafe killed two people and wounded eight more.

A convoy struck a landmine in Tal al-Rummam, where it killed three people and wounded two more.

A bomb at a policeman’s home in Baquba killed his wife and wounded her daughter.

Mortars killed an Asayesh officer in Dibis, while also wounding his son and another civilian.

A car bomb in Khalis killed or wounded several people.
