E Source Is 100% Powered by Alternative Energy

BOULDER, CO, January 31, 2014 (News Release)

E Source is pleased to announce that the company is now receiving 100 percent of the energy needed to run its newly remodeled building from solar and wind power. E Source has been wind-powered for several years, but added solar to its mix after being chosen as one of five local businesses to participate in a local solar garden project funded by Xcel Energy’s Solar Rewards Program and Community Energy Solar.

The solar garden site, located in nearby Lafayette, Colorado, is projected to generate a total of one megawatt of electricity per year. City facilities and local businesses like E Source will consume the majority of electricity generated by the garden, resulting in cost savings for participants and the offset of 1,034 metric tons of carbon dioxide, which is the equivalent of planting 27,883 trees or placing 213 zero-emission passenger vehicles on the road.
