Listen To These Doctors Explain Why They Don’t Eat GMOs and Please Share This With Others

GMOs are created when a gene from one species is combined with another to create something that would not be found in nature or by traditional cross-breeding. Does this sound healthy to you?

GMOs are on the rise in the United States, with 80-90% of commercial crops such as corn and soy being genetically engineered. In Europe it is a completely different story where GMO labeling is a requirement. The very same food companies such as Nestle, Kraft and Hershey, who poured millions of dollars into defeating the ballot in California, DO NOT use GMOs in the European food market.

There is a message there… The health impact of eating GMOs is not well understood but is it just coincidence that since GMOs were introduced in the United States in 1996, and the following nine years saw a nearly 100% increase in the incidence of people with three or more chronic diseases. In a majority of the U.S. there are STILL no laws in place requiring GMOs to be labeled, you probably don’t even know when you’re eating them. Shockingly there is no requirement that the safety of GMOs be guaranteed, or even researched. The research is left up to the manufacturer, as if, companies like Monsanto want to acknowledge the danger of the products they sell! There is significant evidence beginning to surface that GMO foods promote disease.(i) GMOs have increased the use of herbicides, one of the biggest selling points of genetic engineering is the creation of more pest-resistant crops.

By trying to control the “superweeds” that have sprung up, farmers use more and more herbicides to kill them, but the resistant weeds are still growing. These dangerous chemicals are used in higher and higher amounts as an answer to increased resistance, eventually making their way into your body via the food you eat. Then there is the problem that GMOs cross contaminate non-GMO crops. There is a high probability that if we continue to grow GMO crops we could be left with no crops that haven’t been genetically engineered. It is impossible for farmers to stop cross-pollination by wind and insects, and the resulting seed will be a hybrid of their non-GMO crop with the GMO crop. Corn is one of the most commonly genetically engineered foods, with about 90% of it being GMO, and due to cross-pollination, that remaining 10% is not guaranteed to be GMO-free.

The most commonly GMO crops are Soy, Corn (including high fructose corn syrup, corn oil, corn syrup), Canola (as in canola oil), Cotton (including cottonseed oil), Sugar Beets (most sugar is made from this), Zucchini and yellow squash, Papaya and Alfalfa.

Ways to avoid GMOs are buy organic - Foods labeled 100% USDA organic cannot by law contain GMOs. Buying 100% organic ensures that your food is non-GMO AND that is free from dangerous pesticides, hormones, and other chemicals. Look for labels that say “100% Organic” or “USDA Organic” or “Certified Naturally Grown” (CNG). If you see anything labeled “Made With Organic” then is contains some organic ingredients but the rest could be GMO. Also buy grass fed meat and dairy - Check the food you eat. This is highly important because the diet of the animals you eat affects you as well, and if they ate a diet of GMO feed, it will end up in your body.

Basically GMO’S have not been proven to be safe and fact is most of the studies prove that they are UNSAFE. Because of this, many, of the world’s countries have banned these items whose DNA has been genetically engineered. In America, they aren’t even labeled, much less banned, so the majority of the country has no idea that they are eating lab created DNA on a daily basis.

In conclusion, This is why you should avoid GMOs:

1. GMOs have increased the use of herbicides and this leads to contamination of our land, water and bodies.

2. The impact of GMOs is poorly understood, studies harming their credibility are hidden and they have the potential to cause disease.

3. GMOs cross-contaminate non-GMO crops and the farmer growing organic can be sued for growing a patented crop, even if on accident.

4. Terminator seeds. GM crops are designed so they do not reproduce, leaving the farmer to re-buy seeds every year.

5. Monsanto employees are also working in top positions in the Government.

Now you are aware of this your best defense is to buy certified organic food, look for Certified Naturally Grown (CNG) which cannot contain any GMOs and are free of dangerous pesticides. Share this information with your friends and loved ones and let’s make ourselves better!
