US coal output rises 0.9% year on year to 18.9 mil st in week ending

US coal production totaled about 18.9 million st in the week that
ended November 15, the Energy Information Administration said Thursday.
This production estimate, based on railcar loadings, is 0.1% lower than
the previous week's estimate and 0.9% higher than output in the
comparable week in 2013, the agency said.
Coal production east of the Mississippi River totaled 7.9 million st
while output west of the Mississippi totaled 11.0 million st, EIA said.
US year-to-date coal production totaled 867.6 million st, 0.1% higher
than in the comparable period in 2013, it added.
