The Dangers Of Drinking Diet Soda

The soda industry has been suffering as of late. Well, they have been suffering as of the last decade or so. This could be because of the healthy lifestyle craze that has captivated the world, and rightfully so.

Companies like Coca-Cola and Pepsi Co. have taken a substantial hit in the market place. Over the years the well-informed population has been avoiding soda drinks to improve their health.

This can be seen in many sales reports and many sales projections for the future. The best-selling low calorie sodas like; Diet Coke, Diet Pepsi, and Coke Zero have become unpopular to people like you and me. We seemed to have found better alternatives for enjoying a cheat drink once in a while.

This hasn’t gone unnoticed by Coca-Cola and Pepsi Co. Sales for low calorie soft drinks have dropped 20% over the last five years. This is rather alarming for these massive global companies. The people are smart, and unafraid to boycott items that may damaged their health.

It seems as if these dying brands may have to explore other options to gain back the plummeting sales they’re experiencing. Perhaps a reinvention is in the works for these big brands, but who knows.

CAN THEY BE SAVED?

This year alone sales have dropped 5%, and projected to drop down to a third by 2019. The panicking conglomerates are endlessly trying to save their sales. Coca-Cola has since been working on Coca-Cola Life, which promises to be a healthy alternative. Even Pepsi Co. has introduced their Pepsi True, which they hope will benefit their sales in the future. Who knows how successful these new sodas will be for their respective brands. But I can tell you one thing, the ever changing demographic has seemingly made up their minds when it comes to what products they choose to consume. This “natural” spin on products may not be enough to change the minds of the primary target, 18-36. It seems that this problem may continue to spiral out of control with regards to sales. Trying to save these dying brands will not be an easy task for companies like Coca-Cola and Pepsi Co. and to be honest it doesn’t look good for them. The people have found ways around these delicious “treats”. There have been so many new drinks thrown into the loop that it is going to be hard for the competition to keep up.

IT’S NOT LOOKING GOOD

How cold you blame a population that has been flooded with information and new ways to get healthy. They’re definitely not going back to the older way of doing things. Today people want something that is going to produce beneficial results, for example not something that is going to produce belly fat. Now we can see that there isn’t much hope for diet soda in the future. This may seem unfortunate to the poor souls at Coca-Cola and Pepsi Co. but to the ever-growing population it’s a sign of change. Things are going to be different in the future. With the introduction of new brands and new healthy alternatives people have to many options to consider. I can’t say I’m surprised about this whole diet soda issue, and I don’t believe you are either. The world is changing and things are going to be very different. With that in mind, continue to change your ways and benefit your future, because as of right now it’s looking pretty bright.
