 Jordan signs nuclear power deal with Russia

Jordan will reportedly sign a deal with Russia to build the nation’s first nuclear power plant for $10 billion.
 
Jordan picked Russian nuclear developer Rosatom to provide nuclear fuel for the first ten years of the reactor’s operation, according to Bloomberg. Jordan will also return spent nuclear fuel to Russia. Rosatom will finance 49.9 percent of the project, including two, 1,000-MW each reactors, the article said.
 
Bloomberg reports that the first reactor is scheduled to begin operations in 2022.
