MIAMI -

One would-be robber was killed and another was  injured Monday after a 77-year-old man shot them inside his rural Miami-Dade County home, authorities said.

One man died at the scene Monday afternoon. A 25-year-old man was taken to a hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

Police said the homeowner wasn't injured.

The Miami Herald reported that police don't expect to file charges against the homeowner. However, charges are pending for the injured man.

No further details were immediately available.
