Much of Western Europe is struggling to manage the overwhelming migrant crisis. It has been reported that more than a half a million people have fled war-torn regions of the Middle East attempting to find refuge and thousands have died in transit.

It appears most of those trying to enter Europe are escaping Syria and seeking asylum. However, there is mounting concern that others are only posing as refugees and are on missions to spread their radical ideology and commit acts of terrorism. The Islamic State has claimed that it is using the crisis as cover to smuggle thousands of fighters into the region.

While Western allies try to confront the crisis and formulate a plan to deal with the threat of terrorism, Secretary of State John Kerry says the United States will increase the number of Syrian refugees it will allow into the U.S. this year.

Geert Wilders is a Dutch MP and the founder and leader of the Party for Freedom in the Netherlands. He is a leading voice against what he views as the Islamization of his country. In this For the Record short, he warns that the migrant crisis could turn into a disaster for the West — especially if leaders insist on putting political correctness ahead of national security.
