Cancer Researcher With ‘Novel Approaches To Treatment’ Found Stabbed To Death

Dr. Mark Ernsting was out for a walk when he was stabbed to death. Police have determined if the accused had no previous relation to Ernsting. He was stabbed multiple times during his usual, evening walk, according to CBC.ca. Healthnutnews also covered this story. He was attacked at 38 McGill St., just east of Yonge Street and close to Ryerson University, around 9:30 p.m. ET. Mark was a biomedical researcher with the Ontario Institute of Cancer Research. Authorities feel this is a case of a burglary having gone wrong, but his profession of being a prominent cancer researcher would leave open more nefarious complexities in a case of this matter.

“We are deeply saddened at the passing of Mark Ernsting – a talented researcher and terrific person,” the OICR posted on Twitter Wednesday.

There is no evidence at this time that he was researching in the field of holistic or alternative cancer treatments, though suspicion is ripe that he potentially had his hands in something pharmaceutical companies viewed as a threat. The death is incredibly mysterious and suspicious, robbing victims don’t commonly end up stabbed to death. Without evidence of malicious intent outside of the robbery line, it is unlikely this case warrants much more investigative time. Unfortunately, we may never know exactly what happened to Ernsting.

However, what may come a bit more clear is exactly what Ernsting was working on. This could be the key element that would either validate conspiracy theories or invalidate them. It is important not to jump the gun like many sites have chosen to do. We will keep you posted on that aspect (what he was researching). All the same, another sad death in the field of medicine and research.

Clearly, it is the undefined “novel approaches” which will now be the focus of whatever research he was partaking in.
